Assignment #4 - Literary Elements

Explain the following in detail.  (Simple sentences will not be accepted - You will have to redo your work if you do not provide enough details.)
1.) Conflict (person vs self, person vs person, person vs nature, person vs society, person vs technology)  Do not simply list the type, you must provide details of it and a good explanation.  
2.) Setting - provide details of the time, place and location of the story.
3.) Protagonist - provide details of the character's personality, appearance, age, etc.
4.) Antagonist - provide details of the character's personality, appearance, age, etc.

*** As usual, don't forget that spelling, capitals, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, etc are all important. ***

  1. 1.) Conflict: I think the conflict would be Person vs. Society, because Iqbal is trying to stop child labor in Pakistan, and get people to agree with him.

    2.) Setting: This story takes place in 1982, in Pakistan.

    3.) Protagonist: The protagonist in this story is Iqbal, who was a thin, dark, and short boy.

    4.) Antagonist: I think the antagonists in this book are the people who are making kids slaves, such as Hussian Khan, a fat man, who has a dark beard, oily hands, and tiny eyes.

  2. Conflict: I think the conflict person vs person, because Iqbal in fighting against Hussain to free the children.

    Settings: 1982, Pakistan in a carpet factory.

    Protagonist: The protagonist character in the book is Iqbal he is thin and he's a slave.

    Antagonist: I think Hussain is the antagonist character for holding kids as slaves.

  3. Conflict: I think that the novel is person vs person because I think it's Iqbal against Hussein Khan to free the other slave children that he works with.

    Settings: The settings for this novel are 1982, Pakistan, A carpet factory.

    Protagonist: The protagonist in this novel is Iqbal he is thin and works as a slave in a carpet factory.

    Antagonist: The antagonist in this book is the mean master Hussein Khan who works the kids till their fingers bleed and he will keep them as slaves no matter what he says.

  4. Conflict: I believe the conflict in this story is person vs person because it's Iqbal vs Hussein Khan and the reason for that is Iqbal wants to free all the other children slaves so they can see their familys again.

    Setting: The setting is in a carpet factory, in Pakistan, 1892.

    Protagonist: The protagonist in this book is Iqbal who is young, thin, dark, and thin because he does not get enough food.

    Antagonist: The antagonist is Hussein Khan the cruel master who has tiny eyes, oily hands, and a dark beard. Also a larger man then most.

  5. Conflict- I think that the conflict for Iqbal would be person vs person because he likely vs the boss of him ( slavery) and since he hates being a slave he doesnt like the his boss or whatever he calls him.

    Setting: The story most likely takes place in a Carpet Factory, in Pakistan 1892.

    Protagonist: I think that the pro would be Iqbal because he is a teen doing these hard jobs people keep giving him and does not get enough food.

    Antoganist: The Antoganist would be Hussein because he is mean to Iqbal and he gives haard jobs to him.

    antagonist would be his boss because he is torchuring all of these kids
